Some things about me:
• I am fourteen years old. Everything prior to the Scorpion Sketch was drawn when I was thirteen.
• To clear things up, I am a girl.
• I've been drawing since I could pick up a crayon, pretty much. I remember when I was in preschool I would always make these comics about dinosaurs xp
• I've been drawing digitally since I got my first computer (I was either five or seven, I can't remember) but I didn't necessarily start drawing seriously till October of 2009.
• I have never taken art lessons; I taught myself how to draw.
• My favorite thing to draw is, you guessed it, Pokemon. Or at least on the computer. I tend to draw more realistic things on paper, for me Photoshop just won't cut it. I do draw realistically on occasion, though. Other than Pokemon, I like to draw Neopets, and various things from whatever I'm interested in at the time.
• I do not normally take requests. Sorry. When I do, I will create a separate topic to announce it.
• For the majority of the pieces I'll be posting here, I use Photoshop Elements 6.0, Paint Tool SAI, and a tablet.
• I have no distinct style... it changes like, everyday.
• I will now be uploading speed paints to You tube; my username there is TheMuffinLucario.
• I also have a deviantART, Ahnyo.
Without further ado, here's my newest pictures... I have hundreds of drawings on my computer, but I'm just going to be posting my most recent ones. They're arranged oldest to newest.
11/6/10: Lucario
I used a different shading method which I think looks great, but is very, very time consuming. Aside from the coloring, the actual drawing isn't too bad; it's much better than any other Lucario I've drawn. However, the feet are awful, and the paws and bag-appendage things look odd. Something about the face also irks me, maybe the eye is too big...?
11/8/10: Scyther
I wasn't very happy with the lines, but I think most of the coloring came out nice. The scythes are mismatched, the face doesn't look right, and the left thigh is a bit too big... also, the abdomen looks sorta big, but I guess my excuse could be that it's female...?
11/20/10: Cobalion
Sorry for the lack of pictures, I haven't been drawing lately... I think my skill is going down ._. Anyway, my opinion on this one is meh. Its face doesn't look right, and its chest looks odd. The legs and tail are a disaster as well. I didn't take very much time on it... The sketch was drawn on paper for once o3o
Btw, I decided to use a watermark/sig thing... it's the panther with the stars in the corner. In the Escavalier sketch, it's red, but it's in full color in the above picture... the panther's black, but the stars are green.
11/29/10: Escavalier
This one is a meh. I had some problems with the top of the helmet, and it doesn't look right to me. The face also seems a bit too large. I'm not happy with the visible arm and shoulder. I think the coloring came out nice though, and the background works well with the picture. As you can see, the shape of the lances changed from the sketch to the finished drawing, and I added in the handle-like structure I mistakenly left out on the sketch. On that note, the creators of Pokemon seem to like insects with blades of sorts for arms... obviously first we've got Scyther, and then there's this dude with his lances...
12/2/10: Victini
I whipped its sketch up in less than five minutes, so it didn't come out as well as it could have. I had originally planned its head to be slightly tilted to the right, hence why its ears look the way they do. Obviously, it didn't work out very well, and because of this, the ears look odd. I also rushed on the shading, as you can see. I'm pretty happy with how the eyes came out.
12/9/10: Darkrai
I'm pretty pleased with how this one came out. It's definitely one of the best Darkrai I've drawn, and the only good one that isn't done in some variation of Ken Sugimori's drawing. I referenced off of Darkrai's Dream World artwork for this one; however, I improvised on quite a few parts of it, including the mane, the left hand, and the tail. Consequently, these are the worst parts of it... :/
12/10/10: Turtwig
This one isn't TOO bad... there's a couple parts that are a bit off. Otherwise, it's pretty decent. Probably the best Turtwig I've ever drawn ^^
12/11/10: Totodile
I'm not too happy with this one. The yellow band on its chest looks weird, its arms look funny, the spikes are off... I guess it isn't too bad, though...
12/11/10: Reunited
This is supposed to be the scene from Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky where you are reunited with your partner on the beach... I don't know if I got the details right, I don't even know why I made this picture The Shinx ruins the picture. I'll leave it at that.
12/12/10: Yamask
I'm not too happy with this one. First off, I was feeling lazy, so it's heavily reffed. Even then, it still looks ugly. The mask is sloppy, and the... tail(?) seems off.
12/14/10: Vanilluxe
Eh... it came out funny. The straw is ugly, the head on the right looks larger than the head on the right, and the cone is a disaster. For this drawing, and several drawings yet to come, I used size 3 lines rather than size 2, which look a bit straighter.
12/14/10: Trubbish
I guess this one's okay... Trubbish are pretty easy to draw. Some of the lines look a little off. I like how the background came out.
12/14/10: Axew
I'm not very pleased with this one. The lines are all over the place, and its legs are simply terrible... the background is also quite distracting.
12/17/10: Primal Dialga
I got lazy with the coloring. His chest is an epic fail, and his tail is cut off! D:< The colors used in the background make me think of Explorers of Darkness. I'm considering taking him, adding in an epic background, and drawing Team Disaster in front of him... it'll probably be an epic fail, but maybe it'd look good.
12/24/10: Frillish
I really hate how this came out. It's very sloppy in my opinion. Some of the colors don't seem right, as well.
12/25/10: Charizard
It seems to have suffered the same problems of that Charizard I posted a while back; its head is too big, though it isn't as unattractive as the last one ._. However, its wings seem more in proportion, and its tail does too.
1/2/11: Shiny Raikou
I'm pretty pleased with how this came out, though there are some obvious flaws. I tried hard to put it in a unique pose. As for issues, the claws are mismatched, the legs look weird, and the tail is a fail. The ears could use some work, and the 'mustache' seems a bit off. The swirls on the top of its mane on its head are too big as well. Otherwise, this one's pretty decent.
1/8/11: Arceus
I'm pretty happy with this one. I mean, it's not perfect, but it's a pretty darn good try. The neck is sort of weird, and so are the feet; also its tail and the rings on its body don't look right. I like how the shading of the white areas came out
2/1/11: Darigan Kiko
Neopet art! I'm not very happy with this one. I rushed on the coloring. Also, the wings, arms (legs?) and claws make me want to cry. ;_;
2/5/11: Kastraliss
Kastraliss (aka Plague Serpent or something along those lines), the boss of Bogshot Swamp, in Neopets: The Darkest Faerie. I'm so-so on this picture. I got lazy with shading toward the end -pokes blue spots and pink scales- Also, a lot of the lines look crooked, and the wings are awful. The belly could use some work, too. I'm not very proud of the background.
2/19/11: Suicune
I experimented with a different style of lines, but I'm not sure if I'll use it in the future or not. I'm really not happy with this picture; the thing that stands out the most is the "cape", which I screwed up on big time. The white streamer things are also messed up, and both of the paws that are towards the viewer are tilted oddly. The horn thing on its head is rather pointy. I sort of like how the background came out, though, even though I was just messing around with stuff when I made it.
2/23/11: Celesta the Draik
Well, first off, yes, Celesta is supposed to be wearing clothes. I did sketch them, but they looked bad so I didn't include them. You may also be noticing that the lines are abnormally straight... that's because I got bored and downloaded Paint Tool SAI, since Rainy said it was a good program for lines. They aren't perfect, obviously, since that's my first picture ever on SAI. Also, the shading is off because I was doing it wrong... Rainy didn't come on to tell me how to do it properly until after I was done. Anyway... I sort of like how her head came out, but the whisker thing doesn't look right. Her wings- er wing, is awful; I had another one drawn in the sketch, but it came out HIDEOUS. Let's just pretend the other wing is behind her back? The hands look weird as well, and the feet look odd. And the tail is just plain horrible. Not to mention the failtastic shading.
2/23/11: Sludgy
First off, it's a brown blob. You really can't do much to mess up a blob. Unless it's badly shaded, which mine appears to be. I did use the correct shading method, but the shadows under the drips of sludge are pretty messy. As you can see, the shading isn't nearly as detailed as my other pictures. I think this style would look nice with certain things, and I'll probably use it again in the future. I think it gives things a nice professional feel, along with the smooth lines. I haven't exactly mastered my awesome shading style on SAI, so expect to see this one a lot, along with a bunch of failed attempts at the good looking one.
3/10/11: Scolipede
This was actually my first Pokemon done on SAI. I'm really not happy with it, especially since it was ripped off the official art almost completely. The lines aren't the best, and the shading could be better. The purple rings on its body are ugly, and so are its horns and spikes. It's also too fat, but it was even worse before e_e Honestly, I drew a better Scolipede on paper referencing a 75% of its regular size sprite :/
3/18/11: Genesect
I really don't like this Genesect. This is my third time drawing it (excluding this one I doodled on paper from memory) and I think this is the best so far, but it's still terrible. I think its chest and shoulders look off, and its legs are weird. The shading fails badly. The face bugs me (pardon the pun) and the cannon looks strange, especially on the part where it connects to its back. This was another traditional turned digital piece. I did the lines on SAI, and then colored it on Photoshop.
3/27/11: American History Trip Hat Design
... Another fail. The feathers on its head, the beak, and the eyes seem mismatched. Also the shading could be better. Regardless, I'm excited to put this design on a hat. I'll be sure to post a picture when I have it ready.
3/31/11: Chibi Reshiram
Obviously not my best piece. Some of the lines look really messy. And the wings. Gawd, the wings. They're hidden behind stuff for a reason. Its eye looks bad, too. It was even worse before I blurred it... But this was a nice change of pace for me, since I don't normally draw chibies. I tried to make it cute, but I'm not sure if it worked...
4/4/11: A New Adventure Awaits!]
Not really happy with this picture. As everyone knows, I cannot draw Snivy, and I apparently can't draw Zorua as well. I used my simple shading method, and I'm not quite sure whether that helped or hurt the picture. I can never get Snivy's face right, and its arms seems strange too. Its whole body seems misshapen, in fact. Zorua's ears and legs don't match up. The markings are badly placed, and I forgot the tufts of fur on the left side of its face. Also, the background looks out of place.
4/29/11: Dusknoir
If it wasn't obvious, I seriously scrєwed up his right hand-- it's on backwards. See? This is what happens when I don't heavily ref. I only realized it was on the wrong way when I was halfway done with the lines, so I didn't even bother fixing it. Now that I think of it, I really should've. But yeah, I pretty much made up this pose on my own. I really only reffed on Sugimori's art, though I'd occasionally briefly glance at a picture of Dusknoir facing forward just to confirm I wasn't scrєwing it up badly. That particular picture didn't feature Dusknoir sticking his right hand out, obviously. Other than that, I honestly don't have very many complaints about this picture. Both of his hands in general bother me, though. The things on his shoulders, the thing on his head, and his eye look sort of messed up, too. The background could've been better.
5/12/11: Midnight Rush
This picture isn't too bad, but it could use some work. The horns are still a bit too small, and the claws could use some improvement. I really don't have too much else to say... either that or I'm just tired.
6/5/11: Touching Spirit Bear Project
I really hate doing realistic digital art, but I guess this didn't come out as badly as I had expected. The snake is probably the worst thing on there... I never even gave it a tail, did I? I realized that all along, I was just too lazy to add it in, and I didn't want to risk making the picture worse than it already is. The mouse has some issues, too. Its paws were terrible, so I had to cover them with grass. I think some of the grass somehow mixed with the fur on its face...? The bowerbird only has one leg, because again, I didn't want to make it look worse. I think its beak is a bit too long as well. The eagle seems slightly fat, and its wing doesn't look right. Its body is too short and stout, too. The tree doesn't look much like a tree at all... uh, where are its leaves? And why is it that dang short? Ah well. Everyone in English class still thought it was amazing, and besides, it was just for a stupid school project.
6/10/11: Falco Lombardi
I hate anthros. They give you a false sense of security, because they're animals, right? Uh-huh, wrong. They're just humans with animal heads. Thankfully, the part I happen to be worst at when it comes to humans is the head, so drawing this guy's head was probably the easiest part. I think the part that gave me the most problems was the feet. I didn't even bother trying to get down the correct design of Falco's boots, so I mostly improvised there. The only reference picture I used for this drawing was Falco's official art for SSBB. Plus, I usually really fail at trying to draw stuff based on CGI models, so that's a bonus for me right there. I'm not even going to bother listing off all the stuff I got wrong, because even though I suppose it isn't that bad of a drawing, it's loaded with errors, and I don't feel like explaining everything.
I was originally going to recolor him so he looks like the black Falco I usually play as in Brawl, but in the end I didn't feel like it.
6/29/11: It's Not a Dream
Not really proud of this one. But then again, I drew it after a long art hiatus, so I should be happy I was able to draw anything... The body is a mess. All of it. And the head is very much disproportionate to it. The legs were so bad, I cropped them off.
7/22/11: Scorpion Sketch
Sorry about the quality of this image; I took it with a sucky camera. I don't normally put up sketches, but I haven't done any digital art lately, so yeah. Ignore the text.
7/29/11: Quick Genesect
This was done in my simple/Dream World style, obviously. The cannon looks wonky as usual, and I'm not quite happy with the feet. The background leaves much to be desired, but what can I say: I used SAI to color. Its head looks too small, and the shading could use some work. Some of the lines look bad.
8/2/11: Excalibur
This is far from being my best piece... after all, I am still recovering from my art hiatus. His feet are hideous, and his arms look weird. Also, his legs are too freaking long. That hat irks me, and so does the collar thing... Um... don't have too much else to say about this one.
8/8/11: Jackie
I'm not going to bother complaining about this one. I just wanted to draw a picture of my cat, because he was put down that day. I don't really care how it came out...
8/10/11: Brotherly Love
Yup, that's right. I drew a human. The world's going to end now. Aaaanyway, the thing that bothers me the most is how one of Crona's shoulders is higher up than the other. Let's just pretend he's shrugging with one shoulder, mmkay? And his freaking hair is ugly too. And Ragnarok's hands. And Crona's face. And everything else, because this is a human and I s uck at humans and we all know that. And I also s uck at whatever kind of creature Ragnarok may be too, apparently. But considering how badly I s uck at humans, this picture honestly isn't that bad.
If you're wondering about the picture's title, it's because I originally intended it to be a cute little picture of Crona and Ragnarok smiling at each other and being nice for once. But yeah, I'm bad at doing things like that. And Ragnarok usually doesn't even have a freaking mouth, and when he does he looks scary. It wasn't supposed to be a CronaxRagnarok pic (because apparently some people support that... ) because:
1) Crona's a human, and Ragnarok's a... Ragnarok. HumanxAnimal/Creature/Weird Vaguely Humanoid Black Thing that Comes Out of Peoples' Backs is pretty creepy to me.
2) I personally believe Crona is a dude, and yaoi scares me. Speaking of which, if Crona is in fact a girl, then wouldn't that make Ragnarok a girl too? ._. He doesn't have a lower body, does he? How does he go to the bathroom? He's always shown eating and drinking... does Crona do it for him? And I know he doesn't have a chest or anything, but no one ever said he's a mammal, and even then female animals and creatures typically don't have chests in cartoons unless they're freaky anthro things. Or maybe he's like a cow? Nah, that'd be udderly ridiculous. *Shot* But we'd never know, because you never see his lower body. And that's why I think Crona is a guy. ... Why do I think of stuff like that...
3) I see them more as brothers/siblings than anything else. Like, freaky Siamese twins.
4) Shipping in general is just plain weird to me, and I'd prefer to stay out of it.
/endrant
8/12/11: Lucario v2
What bothers me the most is the right paw/hand. It just doesn't look right at all. On that note, the fingers and toes didn't come out very well. The head seems misshapen or something. Compared to my last attempt at Lucario, the coloration is much more accurate.
8/23/11: How Does He Hold the Sword?
Saying this picture is kind of creepy would be an understatement... I seriously don't know why I made this. I'd been thinking about drawing some Soul Eater characters as Pokemon for a while, so I guess I finally got around to it. Excalibur's been drawn as Snivy plenty of times, so I went with something more original...
I don't like the shape of Ragnarok's body. I had intended for most of the darker fur on his back to be just fluff, but I don't know if that's clear to the viewer. I'm also not happy with his muscles, because I never draw muscular things. His bracers and the shoulder strap thing are shaped weird. His paws also look odd. Crona's tail really bothers me, and those things with the buttons on them are awful.
9/4/11: Crona Plays Pokemon
Yeah, it's pretty stupid. I'm really not happy with how Crona looks. You should've seen all the different faces I was doodling on him... I was originally going to make it more dramatic, but I couldn't get it right. The text in the lower box on the screen bothers me, since it's lighter than the text in the other box. They were originally the same shade, but I had to change the lower box because it was hard to read. I should've changed the text in the higher box while I was at it.The white text looks kind of sloppy. The DS came out better than I had expected, though.
9/7/11: Excalibur v2
It's certainly better than the first one, but I still don't like it. Some of the lines look really bad, and I don't like how the body came out... The feet don't match, and the cane is ugly. The background is pretty boring.
10/20/11: Barry the Chopper
I'm participating in a project on the Art Forum where you have to draw an anime character a day for ten days. So here's my first submission; everyone's favorite psychotic serial killer butcher bound to a suit of armor, Barry the Chopper of Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm purposely making these drawings really quick and simple, because I'll probably have a lot of homework and other stuff do to, and I still want to keep up with this challenge.
The lines look pretty nice and clean. I'm not very content with the shading, but then again it was really fast. I forgot to shade around his eye socket... Also, something about the head just irks me. I don't think the face protrudes enough, or something. I also really don't like how both they eye socket and the eye came out. The screws on the plate of metal around where his neck would be are all mismatched and ugly.
Barry sort of reminds me of a Skullion, now that I think of it. They both have weird skulls for heads, and reddish orbs for eyes floating around in their sockets. Also, Barry has sort of gray hair, just like a Skullion's mane.
10/24/11: Worm
As with the rest of my drawings for this project, I didn't spend a whole lot of time on this one. My only reference for this one was something I doodled during Spanish class. I don't know, I don't have a lot to say about this one, mostly because I pretty much didn't ref at all. I'm not happy with the shading, though.
11/19/11: Hybrids
This is a picture of some characters from my fanfic, Plasma's Folly. To be honest, I really don't have a lot to say about this one... the crease where Destiny's (Genesect) nose should be is oddly absent, and overall I'm really not happy with how her she came out. I don't like Aurelia's (Arceus) neck, either. I probably could've made their poses/expressions more dynamic, but yeah.
12/29/11: Guildmaster Arcanine
I don't have a lot to say about this one. I don't like how the paws and scarf came out, though. Some of the lines bother me. And his bag is missing its badge. >:c
12/31/11: Fighting Stance
I'm still rather uncertain of Scyther's anatomy, although this one came out pretty decently. I think the bandanna looks weird, and so do the toes. The upper body sorta bothers me as well, but other than that I don't really have too many complaints about this one. A bonus is that this is an original pose, I guess.
1/7/2012: Argonian
I'm actually quite pleased with this one. It took a long time to finish, (although it only took me one day; a bunch of my Pokemon drawings took me two) but I think it was worth the time. This is definitely the most detailed thing I've ever drawn... My main complaint is with the feathers. They look very sloppy. Otherwise, not too much to say here... I might go and touch up some things later, though.
2/14/12: Keldeo
Ehh, this one's a meh. I really hate how the tail came out, and I don't like how the legs look and how they're positioned. The blue fluff on its chest is weird, and so is the navy growth sprouting from its head. A plus on this one is that the pose was created completely by me; I did reference (as always), but only so I could have an idea of its appearance. The coloring is sort of simple and I think it kind of looks okay.
3/10/12: Black and White Sisters
I was mostly inspired by Pokepark 2 for this one (like the first game, Beyond the World is horrible yet oddly amusing at the same time). I always play as Snivy (not only because she's my favorite of the four, but also because the other Pokemon are unbearably slow) and Jo always plays as Tepig. Tepig is Jo's all time favorite Pokemon, and while Snivy isn't my top favorite Pokemon, it's probably my favorite starter next to Charmander. Jo has a collection of Tepig merchandise, and I collect Snivy stuff. We both have plush, multiple figurines, pennies, and shirts depicting our favorite Unova starters. In fact, the day I started working on this, Jo and I both just happened to be wearing our Tepig and Snivy shirts. I think Tepig and Snivy's stereotypical personality traits fit us rather well, too. Jo is sort of a happy go lucky kind of person, but she also has a fiery temper and it isn't a pretty sight when she's angry. I'm more of a reserved, serious person, and I sort of see things with a sarcastic viewpoint.
I didn't spend a lot of time on this drawing. The lineart is pretty sloppy, and the shading was hastily done. I'm really not happy with how the Tepig came out, but I think the Snivy is one of my best so far.
3/22/12: I'm Not Garbage
Trubbish and its evolution are always the first Pokemon to be criticized by Generation V haters. "The Pokemon Company is seriously running out of ideas. I mean, come on. A trash bag Pokemon?" I'm actually rather fond of Trubbish, and I thought it was an original idea. To be honest, I think the little guy is much cuter than Eevee. Even if you do consider Trubbish to be a totally lame idea, I hope you realize that there have been pretty dumb Pokemon in each generation. I mean, we have Geodude, a rock with arms, and let's not forget Mr. Mime and Jynx. Tyrogue and Smoochum look like demented little toddlers. Don't even get me started on Volbeat and Illumise... those things are hideous. Generation IV brought us junk like Cherubi and Pachirisu. No one seems to have any problems with these critters, though; all the hate is directed at Generation V. It's all because of nostalgia; people complain that Generation V's designs are unoriginal, while most of the Pokemon in Generation I simply evolve into a larger version of their previous forms, or grow two more heads. I have nothing against Generation I (I really like some of the Kanto Pokemon, especially Scyther and Charizard)-- I just wish people could learn to accept all the generations.
Anyway, this was just a quick little doodle in my lazy style. The shading really bothers me... I also don't like the overall shape of the body and the ears.
4/13/12: Pokémonculi Project - Pride
I'm starting a new project in which I'll try to draw all the homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (and the manga) as Pokemon. I'm doing them in the order of their creation, so Lust will be next. All of these will be entirely done on Paint Tool SAI, and I'll be using the pen tool rather than the curve tool for the lines. I chose to depict Pride as a Zorua because it's adorable and yet it looks like a crafty little freak at the same time. Zorua are also tricksters and like to disguise themselves as children, just like how Pride masquerades as Selim Bradley. Zorua is a Dark type, which fits Pride's shadow motif. I originally intended to give his shadows Gastly's color scheme, since I was planning on depicting Father as a Gastly/Gengar. I probably should've done that, since after all Pride's body is merely a vessel, and the real Pride is in fact the shadows. We can't exactly say the Zorua is using Night Daze or whatever. As you can see, I did everything I could to cover Pride's body so I didn't have to draw his clothes. Zorua has such a small body, and it was difficult for me to try to make his clothes look right. His mane got in the way as well. This picture obviously isn't my pride and joy; hopefully the others will be easier, especially since I can't cover their bodies in shadows. This is actually my first time drawing the lines rather than using the curve tool since early 2011.
5/18/12: U Jelly?
This is more or less a serious picture, but I decided to make an entry for it anyway. Well, I was watching videos of some Fullmetal Alchemist game that won't ever come out here, and all the while I was thinking that Envy's monster form would make a pretty epic boss. It turns out that he's the final boss of the game. I thought it was pretty cool, but then this cutscreen came up with this really weird looking picture of Envy... it made Jo and I laugh for some reason, and then I decided to draw it. I guess I couldn't really capture its weirdness-- the original looks a lot funnier. I think I made his forehead too wide or something... also, his white eye looks ugly, and so do the highlights in his hair.
5/24/12: Tamed Flame
Whenever I see a Charizard, I'm reminded of fifth grade. I was obsessed with Charizard for a period of time, and I wrote this weird story about receiving gifts from Arceus that allowed me to turn into a Charizard. I first turned into a Charizard in the middle of gym class, and from what I remember, nobody really seemed to care... unfortunately, I ended up deleting that story from my computer. ;3; I regret deleting so many things... I don't get rid of anything nowadays.
I tried rewriting the story in sixth grade, and I guess it was a little bit more realistic then. I still have that version in a notebook somewhere... Aaaaanyway, I guess this picture is going to represent how I feel when I hear people talking behind my back (which happens all the time). :/ I never actually express this rage building inside of me... I just keep quiet and pretend to ignore it. I really should say something, but I'm too much of a coward. I chose to represent myself as a Charizard because my inner Pokemon according to Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky is Charmander. I also wanted to make a bit of a shout-out to those cruddy fanfics. =P The picture is in black and white because I was playing around with effects, but I guess it also represents how I tend to ignore my fiery anger and hatred.
I'm sort of pleased with how the lines look in some areas, but in other places they look awful. I don't like the feet and legs, and once again, the proportions look a bit off. I think this is a lot better than my other attempts at drawing Charizard, though.
6/16/12: Lazy Heatran
Yesterday was my last day of Regents exams, so summer has finally officially begun for me! And what better way to kick off this stress-free season than to draw our favorite denizen of Stark Mountain lazing around and relaxing? I drew this for a Fire type Pokemon art contest, but I'm not sure whether I should submit this or a new picture. Oh, and fun fact: Half of the Pokemon pictures I've drawn this year contain a Fire type. I'm still experimenting with original poses, and this wasn't exactly easy to pull off with a Pokemon that I already have enough trouble drawing. I really don't like how the left leg came out. I wasn't sure where to put his toes, so I didn't even bother drawing them. The shape of its body bothers me, especially its tail. The toes on the back leg look a little weird. I actually forgot to shade both of the legs on the left side of its body-- good thing it's barely noticeable! I think this is the first Photoshop/SAI picture I've drawn where I actually drew in the background rather than using the grass tool or effects.
6/21/12: Fusion Bolt
This is a doodle I made because I was bored and I love drawing Zekrom. It more or less ties in with the release of Black 2 and White 2 and a certain part that I'm anticipating to write in Plasma's Folly. For this picture, I used absolutely no reference other than my Zekrom figurine; I didn't even ref for colors, which is why they probably look a bit off. I don't like this picture very much. I'm especially unhappy with the head, arms, lower body area and chest. I wanted to make a more dynamic background, but as we all know backgrounds aren't exactly my strongsuit.
6/22/12: Disaster Strikes!
Not a lot to say about this one... I had originally intended to draw them facing Darkrai, but I decided not to because I didn't feel like drawing an actual background. I experimented with yet another style of shading. I don't like how Storm's ears came out... also, I can never get his tail to look right. I'm also not fond of the way my legs look.
Neopet art! I'm not very happy with this one. I rushed on the coloring. Also, the wings, arms (legs?) and claws make me want to cry. ;_;
